The course
Anchoring where bone is still present.
Level 4 · EXPERT Speciality 4B addresses severe atrophy of the maxilla using zygomatic and pterygoid implants: the anchorage is shifted to a stable bone site not subject to resorption, and rehabilitation becomes possible without complex regenerative procedures.
The theoretical phase is completed on the e-learning platform and concludes with a final test; on Friday afternoon, there is a revision session and work on models, whilst on Saturday, participants work on fresh anatomical specimens.
Zygomatic and pterygoid implants share the same principle of extra-alveolar anchorage and are covered in the same programme: indications, anatomy, placement technique and hands-on practice on a cadaver for both.
The three EXPERT specialisms are independent and can be taken in any order. Purchased together, they cost €6,900 (EXPERT COMPLETE) instead of €7,500: this rate applies only to the immediate purchase of the entire level; those who enrol in one course at a time pay €2,500 per course. The package must be requested from the administration office and entitles you to enrolment in each course within the level: a certificate of attendance is issued for each course, and a level certificate upon completion of the level. Course and package fees are quoted net of VAT and subject to receipt.

Rehabilitation where it seemed impossible — In cases of severe maxillary atrophy, zygomatic and pterygoid implants are often the only option that avoids extensive grafting and lengthy treatment times.
Surgical access, with its limitations — The course outlines landmarks, structures at risk and the limitations of access to the maxilla before teaching the procedure.
The dedicated kit in your hands — The specific instruments for zygomatic and pterygoid implants are used throughout the day on a cadaver; you won’t just be looking at photographs.

Assessment and certification
Assessment and certification
The online test concludes the theoretical phase and marks the start of the residential part. The assessment on the specimen is practical and is followed by a final discussion.
Upon completion, AMI issues the certificate for the Zygomatic and Pterygoid Implants module, Expert Level 4B. Once all three specialities have been completed, participants gain access to the two Level 5 · DIAMOND courses.
