Accademia Medica Italiana develops university courses and clinical training programmes for Italian and international doctors and dentists.
Our work involves creating training programmes that combine knowledge, observation and practical experience. We collaborate with universities, training centres and instructors who are actively engaged in their professional work on a daily basis, selecting delivery methods and venues for each course that are appropriate to the subject matter.
From online training to face-to-face activities in Italy, AMI supports professionals from different countries in an environment dedicated to study, clinical discussion and the development of international relationships.
The principle
Every AMI programme begins with knowledge. The principle never changes: only the approach your programme takes to put it into practice changes.
Anatomy, indications, planning and case assessment lay the groundwork for everything that follows.
A procedure is watched before it is performed, together with the clinical reasoning behind it.
The practical activities included in the programme: models, anatomical specimens or patients, depending on the course.
Each step has a specific purpose: to lay the foundations, to make decisions transparent, to support the practical work and to facilitate direct dialogue with the teacher.
Anatomy, indications, case assessment and planning lay the groundwork for every subsequent procedure. Theoretical study can take place online or in person, depending on the course, and remains the basis for clinical decisions.
Clinical case studies, videos, demonstrations and live activities enable participants to observe not only a procedure, but also the sequence of decisions, the limitations and the management of potential complications. Each course uses the tools best suited to its objectives.
Where the programme so provides, practical activities take place in person using a model, an anatomical specimen or a patient, under the supervision of instructors. The specific format is always specified in the course description.
The number of participants is determined by the type of activity, the available space, the timetable and the interaction with the instructors. The aim is to encourage questions, discussion and useful guidance throughout the training experience.
AMI trainers combine their teaching with their professional practice. They draw on real-life cases, decisions, limitations and complications in their training, linking theoretical content to situations encountered in clinical practice.
Training methods
The AMI Method remains recognisable, but its format adapts to suit the learning objectives. We use online training when learning can bridge the distance, and we organise face-to-face sessions when spaces, equipment and direct interaction with instructors are required.
Facial aesthetic medicine
The Master 60 and Perfezionamento 12 programmes involve online learning from the student’s home country. Over the final weekend, participants travel to Italy for the in-person practical sessions, the final exam and the international networking dinner organised by AMI.
Oral surgery
START · ADVANCED · GATE · EXPERT · DIAMOND offer different content and activities. A common feature of the courses in this programme is the e-learning platform with a dedicated tutor, which precedes the practical work; depending on the level, the training then includes exercises using models, dissection of anatomical specimens or surgery on patients. Each method is specified in the relevant information sheet prior to enrolment.
AMI trainers combine teaching with their professional work. They incorporate into their courses the cases, decisions, alternatives, limitations and complications they have encountered in their practice.
Their role is not merely to demonstrate a technique, but to explain why it is chosen, when it is appropriate and what factors need to be taken into account. During the practical activities included in the course, the number of participants and the level of supervision are organised according to the training format and the space available.
